Diameter-Adaptability of Casing Magnetic Memory Inner Detector Under Nonuniform Loading

Abstract:Tooptimize the structural design ofthecasing magnetic memory innerdetectorand improve its adaptabilityunder complex working conditions,a casing magnetic memory inner detector applicable to horizontal wells was developed by integrating centralizer mechanisms with sensor modules.An equilibrium equation for diameteradjustment mechanism with spring damping was established,a mechanical modelof the inner detector was built,and the Comsol finite element analysis software was used to simulate its diameter variation processunder gravity and nonuniformloading,obtaining the keyparameters such as stress,strain distribution and diameter variation of the inner detector.Moreover,ful-scale four-point bending and shear tests were conducted to verify the passing ability and diameter-adaptabilityof the innerdetectorinbentcasing and locally plasticdeformed casing.The studyresults show thatunderitsown weight,the sensordisplacementof theinnerdetectoris about3.5mm.Springdamping can significantly suppress deformations;under nonuniform loading conditions,sensors experiencecompression on one side and relaxation onthe other,with the maximum lift-offdistance between front and rear sensors reaching 5mm,verifying the regulatory effect of spring damping on the diameter variation behavior.The established mechanical model can effectively predict the diameter variation behaviorof the inner detector under non-uniform loading conditions.The study results provide technical support for improving the reliability and safety of casing damage detection.
