Research progress on changes in forest soil environment under fire disturbance

Abstract: Soil is a key component of forest ecosystems,playing essential roles in water conservation,nutrient cycling,plant growth support,as wellas carbon sequestration. Its physical properties are the material basis for supporting these functions. Forest fires are one of the most important natural disturbance factors in forest ecosystems, significantly altering the soil environments and properties. This article reviews the impact of forest fires on soil physical properties,such as temperature,hydrophobicity,structure,and bulk density,and explores their ecological consequences.Given these impacts,future research should focus on post-fire soil water loss control,soil fertility maintenance,and biodiversity protection and restoration. This study can provide scientific support for post-fire vegetation restoration and soil fertility management in forest ecosystems.
