Research progress on SiCf/Ti shear performance test methods

Abstract:SiCf/Ti has excellent mechanical properties along the fiber direction,and can be made into unidirectional reinforced structural parts,which can greatly improve the bearing capacity of structural parts and reduce the weight of structural parts,and has been widely used in aerospace and other fields. For SiCf/Ti structural parts (such as fasteners,rivets,etc.)under shear stress, it is of great significance to investigate the test method of their shear performance.At present,the shear performance testing methods related to composite materials are complex and varied,while their applicability to SiCf/Ti is not clear. Herein,this work mainly reviews the shear testing methods of composite materials from the aspects of test standards,test devices,and test principles. The advantages and disadvantages,applicable scope and application of diferent test methods such as torsion method,tensile method,bending method,notch method and shear method are discussed, and the applicability of different test methods to SiCf/Ti shear property test is expounded,and the future research work is prospected,which provides a powerful theoretical guidance for the subsequent studies of SiCf /Ti shear properties.
