Abstract Objective:To translate the Exercise Adherence Rating Scale, and test its reliability and validity in cancer patients.Method:EARS was Translated, cross cultural adapted and pre-investigated using the Beaton translation process. A total of 140 cancer patients who admitted from a tertiary grade A hospital in Fuzhou from September to November 2022 were selected as the research subject to test the reliability and validity of Chinese version of EARS.Results:The Chinese version of EARS includes two parts: exercise adherence and reasons for adherence/non-adherence of exercises. The correlation coefficient between the scores of each item in the exercise adherence section and the total score were 0.833-0.908. The content validity index at the item level (I-CVI) of the scale were 0.8⁃1.0, and the content validity index at the scale level (S-CVI/Ave) was 0.95. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the exercise adherence part in Chinese version of EARS was 0.939,the test-retest reliability of the scale was 0.873 and the split-half reliability was 0.937.Conclusion:The Chinese version of the EARS shows high level of reliability and validity, and can provide a reliable tool for evaluating the exercise adherence of cancer patients.
