Potential profile and influencing factors of self⁃development needs in older adults

Abstract  Objective：To explore the potential profile characteristics of self⁃development needs among elderly people and analyze the influencing factors of self⁃development needs among different categories of elderly people.Methods：From December 2021 to October 2022，619 elderly people in Nanning， Guangxi were selected as research objects by convenience sampling method.The elderly health care needs questionnaire was used to investigate. Mplus 8.3 software was used to analyze the potential profile of the data of self⁃development needs of the elderly， and the disordered multi⁃classification Logistic regression model was used to analyze and evaluate the influencing factors of various categories of self⁃development needs.Results：There were three potential profiles of self⁃development needs among the older adults，namely，low self⁃development needs⁃patient support group（31%），medium self⁃development needs⁃culture and recreation group（23%）， and high self⁃development needs⁃diverse group（46%）.The disordered multi⁃classification Logistic regression model showed that religious belief，lack of exercise and self⁃care ability had an impact on the potential categories of self⁃development needs of the older adults（P<0.05）.Conclusion：The self⁃development needs of the older adults have obvious classification characteristics， and more precise and targeted elderly care services should be adopted according to different categories of the older adults to meet their needs for self⁃development and improve their quality of life and happiness.
