Best evidence summary for inspiratory muscle training in patients with difficult weaning

Abstract  Objective：To select， evaluate， and summarize the best evidence for inspiratory muscle training in patients with difficult weaning.Methods：Relevant content on inspiratory muscle training in patients with difficult weaning was systematically searched from March 31，2010 to March 31，2023.Evidence extraction and integration were carried out after evaluating the quality of literature.Results：A total of 11 articles were included，including 3 clinical decisions，1 guideline，4 expert consensuses，1 systematic evaluation，and 2 randomized controlled trials.Finally，the best evidence summary for inspiratory muscle training in patients with difficult weaning was formed，including 8 aspects（training objectives，respiratory assessment，training team，training population，training methods，training intensity，frequency and time，pause indicators and monitoring） with 22 recommended opinions.Conclusions：The best evidence summary for inspiratory muscle training in patients with difficult weaning summarized in this study can be applied individually and in a targeted manner by healthcare professionals in relation to clinical scenarios and patients' wishes，thus improving the success rate of weaning.
