Abstract:Parkinson'sdisease(PD)isacommonneurodegenerativedisorderinclinical practice,withastealthyonsetand lack of specific symptoms and biomarkers in the earlystage.At present,the diagnosis of PDmainlyrelies on its motor symptoms.Recent studies have found that visualfunction impairment is one of the common non-motor symptoms of PD, which can appear intheearly stageof thedisease,and the morphologicaland functional changesof thevisual system in PDpatientsmayberelatedtothedegenerationofdopaminergicneurons.Bydetectingvisualimpairment,itcanrevealthe underlyigneurologicaldamageinPD,providingobjectiveevidenceforthediagnosisandassessmentofthedisease. Thereare manyophthalmologicaldetection techniques thatareusedtocheck forvisual impairmentinPDpatients,suchas eye-tracking technology,visual electrophysiological examination,andoptical coherence tomography.Thisreviewwill summarize someof theophthalmological detection techniquesand theirapplication inPDresearch,hoping to provide referenceforfurtherresearch.
