Representation ofEmilyDickinson's View ofFame in American TV Series“Dickinson' ZHOU Jianxin

Abstract: The renowned 19th century American poetess Emily Dickinson's view of fame has been mentioned by previous researchers but no detailed analysis has been done so far. The second season of the popular American TV series“Dickinson” focuses on Dickinson's view of fame,but no research has pointed out its connection with the historical Dickinson's view of fame.This paper demonstrates Dickinson's view of fame through Dickinson's poems and lettrs,and analyzes in detail how the second season of the American TV series “Dickinson” faithfully represents the historical Dickinson's view of fame,showing Dickinson's initial desire for fame,followed by hesitation and struggling,and finally deciding to abandon the pursuit of worldly fame, concentrate on writing poetry and look forward to posthumous fame.
