A Review of the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Basic Scientific Research under Weak Technological Determinism

Abstract: Artificial inteligence (AI) is deeply integrating into basic scientific research, not only driving innovation in basic scientific research methods but also promoting a transformation in its research paradigms. From the perspective of weak technological determinism,artificial inteligence and basic scientific research presenta two-way interactive relationship.On the one hand,artificial inteligence injects development momentum into basic scientific research and empowers the scientific research process On the other hand, the achievements made in basic scientific research provide feedback to artificial inteligence,facilitating its iterative upgrading.At the same time,the negative effects of artificial inteligence in the application of basic scientific research cannot be ignored.Risks and problems such as data dependence,artificial intelligence illusion, algorithm black box,cognitive narrowing,and loss of scientific diversity allneed to be paid atention to. Continuously examining the application boundaries and ethical impacts of artificial inteligence in basic scientific research is of great significance for ensuring the stable development of basic scientific research and grasping the transformation direction of basic scientific research in the digital and intelligent era.
