Abstract： The definition of α -Bloch space denoted by Bα（S） on plane infinite strip S={x+iy，|y|<π/2} and the properties of the Bloch space B（S） on S are presented. When 0<α⩽2 ，usinga known inequality，a characterization of the α -Bloch space Bα（S） is obtained，and the corresponding results defined on the unit disk D on the Bloch space Bα（D） are generalized.
