Abstract:Thisstudyfocusedonthelimitstateequationfordefect-freepipelines,identifyingeyparametersafectingpipelinesfety suchaspressure,pipestrength,ndaltknssAsensitivitynalysisofpipelinfureprobabilitwithespecttohepaete revealed the following ranking:mean pressure > standard deviation of pipe strength > mean pipe strength > mean wall thickness > standard deviation of pressure > standard deviation of wall thickness.Taking a natural gas pipeline (1219 mm,L555 steel grade,10 MPa) asanexample,thestudyfoundthatadoptingaO.5designfactorforwalthicknessinhigh-onsequenceareas (HCAs)acrossdierent regionalclasificationsensuredniformsafetylevelsunderdesignonditions.Howeverduringstrengthpressuretestingtheyield failureprobabilityincreasedbyovertimesomparedtodesignconditions,exceedingalowabletresholdsandposingruptursks. Tomitigatethisfilureprobabilitytosolutioswereproposd:firstusingaO.4dsignfctorforalthicknessaongtetielie, andsecond,increasingthemeanyieldstrengthfrom555MPato60OMPaandthetensilesrengthfrom625MPato688MPa,hile tightening manufacturing parameter tolerances to reduce variability.
