Development and application of pneumatic walking descaling device for subsea pipeline nodes

Abstract:Focusingonthecharacteristicsoffieldjointcoatingconstructionatsubseapipeinenodes,thisstudyanalyzedthetechical requirementsforautomaticdescalingatthesenodes.Apneumaticwalkingsandblastingframeanditscontrolsystemweredesigned, resultinginthedevelopmentofapneumaticwalkingdescalingdevicethatutilizedcompressedairtoquicklycompleteautomatic descalingoperationsatfieldjointsofsubsea pipeliesAdditionally,theuseofapneumaticmotorasthedrivingsystem ffectively reducesthenumberoflectricalcompoentsintedvicethrebyloweringtheateofelectricalfaluresiarshofshoreenvints. Fieldengineringapplicationsshowthatthesurfacedescalingqualityand eficiencymeettheconstructionrequirementsforsubsea pipeline field joint coating and demonstrate high operational stability.
