Abstract:This paper is to introduce Professor LIU Jinwen's clinical experience in treating edema after joint replacement surgery with carp soup.Hypoproteinemia after the joint replacement surgery isa common complication, which is closelyrelated to surgical trauma,stress response and protein metabolism disorder,andcan lead to poor prognosis.ProfessorLIU holds thatpostoperative edema inlowerlimbs is related toqi-blood depletion,spleen-kidney yang deficiencyandobstruction of meridians and collterals.He proposes touse carp soup which can fortifythespleen and induce diuresis and nourish the body as an auxiliary treatment.
