Introduction of ZHANG Zhidi's Experience in Staged Treatment of Gastric Cancer

Abstract：This paper introduces Professor ZHANG Zhidi's clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatmentof gastric cancer.Professor ZHANG Zhidi holds that thecore pathogenesis of the occurrence and development of gastric canceris deficiencyof healthyqi and exuberanceof pathogenic factors，as wellasdeficiency inoriginand excess in superficiality.Sheputs forward the treatment principleof focusing on protecting the spleenand stomach，fortifying the foundationand consolidating theoriginalqi，and nurturing the healthyqi，supplementedbyclearing heatandremoving toxins，resolving phlegmandremovingstasis，anddisipating masss to treat cancer.Combining withclinical practiceand closely following the disease characteristics of gastric cancer patients in the three stagesof post-operation，radiotherapy and chemotherapy，and terminal stage，she advocates staged treatment.After gastric cancer surgery，equal emphasis is placedonreinforcing healthyqiandattacking toxins，withthelateraiming toclearresidual cancertoxins.During the radiotherapyand chemotherapy stage，reinforcing healthyqi is the main approach whileatacking toxins is auxiliary， andthelaterfocuses onclearing drug toxins.Inthe terminalstage，great importance is atached toprotecting the vitality of the spleen andstomach；foratacking toxins，the strategyof defending asattckingandreplenishing before attacking，replenishing after repeated atacks is adopted.Meanwhile，attention should also bepaid to psychological counseling for patients and regular disease education in clinical practice，thusachieving definite clinical effect.
