Summary of GONG Baowen's Experience in Treating Diabetic Nephropathy Using Adding Firewood Under Cauldron Method

Abstract：Diabetic nephropathy（DN） is one of the common causes of end-stage kidney disease，and controlling its progression is crucial fordelaying kidney failure.ProfessorGONG Baowen，arenowned traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）practitionerin Shantou，holdsunique insights into treating DNwith TCM theory.Professr GONG posits that the fireofthe Life Gate（kidneyyang）servesasthe foundationof vitalactivities，andthe progressionof DNclosely correlates withthedeclineofthis fire.Adopting addingfirewoodunderthecauldronas thecore therapeutic principle，he implements stage-based treatmentforDN.This article systematicallyreviews the etiology，pathogenesis，and treatment strategies for DN，accompanied byonecase report demonstrating Professor GONG'sapplicationof the addingfirewood under the cauldron method，aiming to provide new perspectives for managing DN from the perspective of yang deficiency.
