Exploring the Combined Treatment of Acupuncture and Tuina for Premature Ovarian Failure Based on the Theory of Guarding the Meridians

Abstract:The Theory of guarding the meridians，which emphasizes theregulation of the physiological and pathological changesof the meridians as thecore guiding principle fordiagnosingand treating diseases,stresses the harmonizationofqiand bloodand the unobstructed flowof meridians.According tothis theory,thedeficiencyof spleen and kidney yang runs through the entirecourse of premature ovarian failure (POF),with the depletionof qi and blood andtheinsuficiencyof theblood vessels being thekeypathogenic factors.Theobstructionof phlegmand blood stasis in the veselsandthelack of nourishmentto theuterus areconsidered the main factors intheprogresionof the disease.In terms of treatment,theprinciplesofwarming yang,unblockingthemeridians,enrichingqiandblood,andremovingblood stasis and phlegm are adopted.Based on the theory of guarding the meridians andfolowing the holistic thinking of the integration of zang-fuorgans,meridians,andqiand blood in traditional Chinese medicine,thecombined therapyof acupuncture and tuinaisusedto intervene inPOF.Theaim is torestore ovarian functionand improve thequalityof life of patients,achieving goodclinical efcacy.This studyaims to provideareference fortheexternal treatmentof POF in traditional Chinese medicine.
