Abstract:In recent years,two-dimensionalrare-earth materials have rapidlybecomeafrontierand hot spotin scientificresearchdueto their uniqueproperties thatcombine thoseof two-dimensional materials andrare-earth materials.To achieve theapplicationof two-dimensional rare-earth materials in the fieldsofoptics,electronics,and magnetism,theirsynthesisisofcrucialimportance.Themethodsforsynthesizing two-dimensionalrare-earthmaterials have beensummarized.Among them,chemicalvapor deposition(CVD) is one of the commonly used methods,and salt-assisted CVD can be used to synthesize binary(such as Gd 205 , CeO2 ,E 1203 ,etc.)and ternary(such asEuOCl,LaOCl, Er202S ,etc.)two-dimensional rare-earth compounds;mechanical exfoliation is oftenused to synthesize two-dimensionalrare-earth oxyhalidesand telurides;coating methods include molecularbeam epitaxy,thermal deposition,and others,which can be used to synthesize GdSi2, EuGe2 ,SmSe,etc.Finally,the prospect of large-scale synthesis of two-dimensional rare-earth materials have been proposed.
