Abstract:Copper-doped carbon dots(Cu-CDs)werefabricated through bottom-up hydrothermal method based on L-tryptophan,folicacid and copper chloride.Characterization of the carbon dots’structure,HPAMrecognition mechanism,and degradation performance wereconducted usingtransmision electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy,and steady-state transientfluorescence spectroscopy.Asaresult,Cu-CDs exhibitedahigh quantumyieldof 60 % ,proving capable of anti-ion interferenceand specific recognition of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM) in water. The fluorescence intensity ratio( )of Cu-CDs displayed a strong linear correlation with HPAM concentration from 1 m g / L to 1 0 0 0 m g / L ,witharemarkabledetection limitof 0 . 2 7 m g / L .ThedegradationofHPAMachievedarateof 78 % within2 hours under 365 nmultraviolet irradiation,showcasing the efficacy of Cu-CDs.Even after5 cycles,Cu-CDs retained their high degradation eficiency( 67 % ),underscoring their exceptionalphotocatalytic stability.Thisstudypresentsapracticalapproachforthe precisedetectionand degradationof HPAM,offering promise for the effective treatment of pollutants.
