Effect of the teach-back method combined with micro-video education on foot care knowledge and behaviors in patientswith high-riskdiabeticfoot

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacyof the teach-back method combined with micro-video education inpatientswith high-risk diabetic foot.Methods A totalof 67 patientsadmited from February to August 2O23 were assgned to the control group(routine health education).Meanwhile,7O patients admitted from September to December 2O23 received the intervention(teach-back method + micro-video education). Diabetic foot knowledge and self-care behaviors were assssed pre-and post-intervention.Results Postintervention,the intervention groupdemonstrated significantlyhigherscores in knowledgeoffotwear,dailyfoot care,and exercise( P<0.05 )versus the controls.No significant intergroup difference existed in risk factor knowledge ( P >0.05).The intervention group also exhibited superior behavioral performance in personal care, foot care,and footwear( P <0.05).Conclusion The teach-back method integrated with micro-video education effectively enhances fot care knowledge acquisition and self-care behaviors in patients with high-risk diabetic foot.
