Abstract: To enhance temperature control precision in plate heat exchangers, this paper proposes an improved proportional-integral-derivative (PID) strategy optimized via a modified particle swarm optimization (PSO)algorithm,addressing the limitations of conventional PID algorithms caused by strong coupling, hysteresis,and nonlinearity.Acontrol model was established through dynamic characterization of the heat exchanger. By incorporating adaptive inertia weight and dynamic learning factors into PSO,dynamic tuning of PID parameters was achieved,constructing a hybrid PSO -PID control system.Simulink simulations demonstrated its superior performance over conventional PID and fuzzy PID methods,exhibiting reduced overshoot,higher precision,and enhanced disturbance rejection.The approach efectively mitigated hysteresis and nonlinearity, significantly improving temperature control performance.
