[Abstract]Objective:Using BOLDresting-statefMRIandgraphtheorytoanalyzethetopologyoffunctionalbrainnetworks inhealthyvoluntersbeforeandafterreceivingvariousmeridiansinewtreatments,inodertorevealthemechanismofmeridian sinewtreatments’influenceonneuralnetworkmodulation.Methods:Thirty-threehealthyvolunteerswererecruitedand randomlyassignedtotheSanyanggroup(18cases)andthe Sanyingroup(15cases).Simplereactiontime test,Schulte grid test,cranial MRI3D-TWI,andBOLDdata werecolectedbeforeandaftertreatment.GRETNAsoftwarewasusedtoconstruct functionalbrainnetworksandcalculatetopologicalparametersforwithin-groupandbetween-groupcomparisonsbeforeandafter treatment.Results:Aftertreatment,intheSanyanggroup,thereactivityandatentionweregreatlyenhanced,theglobal eficiency,localeficiencyandclusteringcoficientwerelowered,andthecharacteristicpathlengthwaselevated(ll P< 0.05).While thenormalized characteristic path length wasreducedinthe Sanyin groupafter treatment( P<0.05 ).The Sanyanggroupshowedlowernodallocaleficiencyandnodalclusteringcoeficientinbrainregionsofmultiplecognitively relevant networks(all P<0.05 ),themajority of which were in the right cerebral hemisphere(83.3%,15/18).Correlation analysis revealed that Schulte grid time (GRT)was positively connected with clustering coefficient( r=0.338,P=0.005) .Conclusions: Themeridiansinewtreatmenttargetingthe Sanyangmeridiansinewcanoptimizethearrngementofthefunctionalnetwork, whichiturnstrengthensthevolunters’reactivityandattention,anditismorenoticeableintheoptimizationofthenetwork operationmodeandthestrengtheningofreactivity/atentionthantheSanyinmeridiansinew.Theintegrationofresting-state fMRIandgraph theorycanprovideanovelconceptandaproach forearlyquantitativeobservationof theeficacyof meridian sinew treatments of neurological illnesses.
