Motion Analysis and Performance Simulation of the Separation Process of Seed Melon Seed-flesh Separation Device

Abstract:Aiming at the isse of low working eficiency in separation processof seed melon seed-flesh separation device,the structural parameters of the seed-flesh separation device were optimized in this study through motion analysis and simulation research.A three-dimensional model and a discrete element model of various components of the separation device were established.The movement and force states of the seed-flesh mixture on the screen and separationroller during the separation process were analyzed.Subsequently,the melon seed impurityrate and the melon seed scratch rate were taken as evaluation indexes,a single-factor simulation test wascarried outon the separation roller speed,the spacing between the scraper and the screen,and the separation roler scraper inclination angle,the influence rules of each factoron the separation effect of the seed-flesh were obtained.Additionally,a prototype test was carriedout based on the simulation results,with the optimal working parameters obtainedas follows:a separation roller speed of 102r/min ,a spacing of 1mm between the scraper and the screen,a separation roller scraper inclination angle of 7∘ ,with the evaluation indexes of the melon seed impurity rate of 2.9% and the melon seed scratch rate of 3.4% ,which improved seed-flesh separation performance.
