Practice and Exploration of Academic Salons in Cultivating the Scholarly Competence of Public Librarians

Abstract Academic salons playa crucial role in enhancing thescholarlycompetenceof public librarians.This paper investigates thepractices of academicsalons in12 leading public libraries recognized for their strong academic performance.The findings show that academic salons arecharacterizedby strategic planning，professional organizational support，andcollaborative engagement，all contributing tonotable achievements.Tofurther improve theorganizationand implementation ofacademicsalons，policysupportshouldbeenhancedto ensure thedepthand breadthofthecontent，the efciencyandpracticalityoftheorganizationalmethods，thediversityoftheforms，ndtheobjectivityandscientificityof the evaluationtosupporttheirsustainable development.Additionally，effortsshould bemade toincreasepublicityand expand the influence ofacademic salons， with the goal ofbuilding a highly professionaland reputable academic brand.
