A Survey of Bird and Mammal Diversity in Chagangliang Nature ReserveofGansu Province

Abstract:In order to obtain accurate information of the status of species resources,infrared camera technologywas used to investigate the diversityof birdsand mammals inthe Gansu Chagangliang Provincial Nature Reserve from 2O21.ByApril 2023,atotal of 73 infrared camera sites have been setup in the reserve, with1095effctive working daysand1180 independent valid photos (595of birdsand 585of mammals).A totalof 77species of vertebrates (52 speciesof birdsand25species ofmammals)of9orders,31families were identified,including9speciesof nationalIprotected wildanimalsand19 speciesofnational I protected wild animals.The top five mammals with the highest relative abundance index were Elaphodus cephalophus、
Cervus nippon、Martes flavigula、Ochotonacansus and Vulpes vulpes;The birds with greater relativeabundance were Ithaginis cruentus、Crossoptilon auritum、Trochalopteron elliotii、Luscinia phaenicuroides and Turdus rubrocanus.The species diversity of mammalsand terrestrial birds in Chagangliang Nature Reserve were basically clarified by the survey,the basicdatabase was established for species conservationof theregion,and scientific basis was provided for the management of Chagangliang Nature Reserve.
