Resources Investigation and Analysis of Wild Symplocos paniculata in Xiaolongshan Forest Region

Abstract： Thedetailed resources investigationand statisticsof wild Symplocos paniculata in diferentaltitude ranges in Xiaolongshan forestregion wereconducted inthisstudy，and the sitefactors，phenotype traits，and seed yield per plant of S. paniculata were recorded and analyzed.The results showed that：1） the wild Symplocos paniculatain Xiaolongshan forest area mainly distributed in the brownsoil area of1Oo0＼～228O mabove sea level，and the individual traitsand variation degree were higherinthe lowaltitude（ <1200m） andhigh altitude >1800m ），while the performance was relatively stable in themiddleand low altitude areas.Light intensity，waterretentionabilityofsoilsurfaceandaltitude were themainlimitingfactorsofnaturaldistribution of S⋅ paniculata.2）There wasagreat diference in the fruit yield per tree in the study area，thecoefficientof variation was 47.81% ，and the highest fruit yield per tree reached 3.51kg .Tree height，crown width and branch height were themain structuralfactors affcting the fruit yield per tree.The scientific basis was provided for further protection and rational development of Ｓ. paniculata resources in Xiaolongshan forest area by the study， and the importance of protection of suitable habitatand improvementof cultivation technology for sustainable utilization of S⋅ paniculata resources were emphasized.
