Intelligent Manufacturing Drives the New Quality Productive Forces of Enterprises: Evidence from IntelligentManufacturing Pilot Demonstration Projects

Abstract:Intelligentmanufacturingrepresents theprimary direction forachieving high-qualitydevelopmentin the manufacturingsector.Fromamicro-levelperspective,thisstudyutilizesChina'sInteligentManufacturingPilot Demonstration Projects initiated bythe Ministryof Industryand Information Technologyasaquasi-natural experiment. Employing a multi-period difference-in-differences modelandanalyzing data from listed companies (2O10-2023),we investigatetheimpactofintellgentmanufacturingonenterprises‘newqualityproductiveforces.Thefindings demonstratethatintelligent manufacturing significantlyenhancesenterprises’new qualityproductive forcesby simultaneouslystrengthening technological innovationcapabilitiesandoptimizingtheeficiencyofdatafactorsutilization. These effectsare particularly pronounced in enterprisesoperating in less competitive industries,those experiencing substantialdigitaldivides,andhigh-technologyfirms.Furtheranalysisrevealsthatinteligentmanufacturingfacilitates the concentration of innovation factors in enterprises with stronger innovation capacities.
