Abstract：Theintegrated developmentoftheconventionandexhibitionindustryand tourismremains initsearlystages. Therelationship between theadvancement of theconventionand exhibition industryand the tourism economy，as wellas themechanisms through which theconvention and exhibition industry influences tourism，requires further exploration. This studyemploys panel data from30 Chinese provinces spanning 2O12 to2O23 to examine thecorrelation between the developmentof theconventionand exhibition industryand thegrowthof thetourism economy.Theresults indicate that the development of the convention and exhibition industrysignificantlyand positivelyinfluences the tourism economy，a finding thatremains robustaross various empiricaltests.Mechanismanalysisrevealsthatthispositiveeffectis primarily realizedthrough enhanced tourismatractivenessHeterogeneityanalysis further demonstrates that the impactis more pronounced inregionscharacterizedbylowermarketization，higherlevelsoftransportation infrastructure，and greater foreigninvestment.Additionally，environmentalregulationsarefound topositivelymoderatetherelationshipbetweenthe developmentof theconvention and exhibition industryandthe tourism economy.Thesefindings provide theoretical and practicalinsights forpromoting the integrated developmentoftheconventionandexhibitionand tourism industries.
