Abstract：Fullyunleashing the entrepreneurial spirit among business leaders isa crucial driver forjob creation， industrial upgrading，and enhancedmarketvitality.This paperleverages dataonbusiness registration from 2O06 to 2022 andemploys the implementationof thenegative listsystemas aquasi-natural experimentto construct a diference-indiferencesmodel，empiricallyexamining theimpactofmarketentryderegulationonentrepreneurial spirit.Theresults showthat marketentryderegulation significantlyenhances entrepreneurial spirit，afinding thatremainsrobustacross variousrobustness checks.Mechanism analysis indicates that this efect operates mainly through the reduction of institutionaltransactioncosts andtheexpansionof market size.Furtheranalysis reveals that abundant higher education resources and higherlevels of social trust positively moderate the efectof market entryderegulationon entrepreneurial spirit.Moreover，thepositive impactof market entryderegulation is most pronounced in the tertiary sectorand inthe central and western regions.
