【Abstract】Objective To evaluate the clinical eficacy of a novel disposable ureteral stent retrieval device and compare itwith traditionalrigid cystoscopyinterms of surgical success rate，Incidence of urethral injury，and patient experience.MethodsA total of 2OO patients requiring ureteral stent removal in July2024 were randomly divided into an observation group （novel device， n=100 ） and a control group （rigid cystoscopy， n=100 ）.Parameters including surgicalsuccessrate， intraoperativepain （visualanalog scale，VAS），treatmentcosts，Incidenceofurethral injury within24 hours post-surgerytodetermine if therehasbeenurethralinjury），andpatientsatisfaction（Likert 5- point scale）were recorded.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0.ResultsThe success rate in the observation group （93.0% ）was lower than that in the control group （99.0%， χ =4.88， P =0.030），but no significant difference was observed in non- prostatic hyperplasia patients （ 100% Us. 100.0% ， P>0.05 ）. The observation group demonstrated significantly lower intraoperative pain scores （1.74±O.3 vs.5.54±0.66， t=-10.360 ， P<0.001 ）， reduced treatment costs [（249±10）RMB vs.（1176 ± 13）RMB， t=⋅ -641.490， P <0.001]，and fewer Incidence of urethral injury （ 4.0% vs. 13.0% χ2 =5.207， P =0.022）.Patient satisfaction was higher in the observation group （4.4±O.5 vs.3.1±0.89， t 13.789， P <0.001）.Conclusion The novel disposable ureteral stent retrieval device demonstrates advantages such as simplified operation，cost-effctiveness，andreduced gross or microscopic haematuria，significantly improving patient experience and showing potential for widespread clinical adoption.However，its application should be approached cautiously in patients with prostatic hyperplasia or urethral strictures.
