Abstract： In2O22，"Traditional Chinese Tea Processing Techniques and Associated Social Practices" was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List ofthe Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.This has raised higher expectations for the protection of tea intangible cultural heritage （tea ICH）.Previous heritage preservation models，which werebased on a material-centered perspective，tended to overlook the vital role of bearers in transmiting intangible heritage.Tea ICH bearers constitute a complex and diverse group，so safeguarding this group is essential to effectively protecting tea heritage.This study examines the current situation and predicaments faced by tea ICHbearers under the representative inheritor system，the supportive role of diverse cultural actors and the supportive functions of "cultural brokers" inthe processof transmission.By investigating these issues fromthe perspective of bearer subjectivity，this paper aimed toshed lightonthe current status and challenges intea ICH preservation，thereby providing valuable reflections on the focus and priorities of tea ICH conservation.
