Abstract：Pomegranate is a multifunctional tree species valued for its contributions to consumption，medicinal use，ornamental purposes，ecology，and culture.In recent years，the market demand for pomegranate products has been steadily increasing.To meet the demand for high-quality pomegranate products and address challenges in agricultural production，this paper summarized and analyzed the current research and progress in pomegranate breeding both domestically and internationally. The aim is to provide theoretical support for improving breeding efficiency，optimizing breeding strategies，and laying a scientific foundation for the high-quality development of the pomegranate industry.
