Abstract:Thisstudyaimed toinvestigatetheefectsofdrylandcultivation(DC)onagronomicandgrainqualitytraitsof directseeded japonicariceinYunan.Thehigh-qualityhybridjaponicaricevarietyDianheyou615'andtheconventionaljaponicarice variety'hujing54'wereemployedasexperimentalmaterials.DCwascompared withconventionalfoodedcultivation (FCinterms of theagronomic,yield,andgrainqualitytraits.TheresultsshowedthatcomparedwithFC,DCprolongedthegrowthperiodand caused significantreductionsinseedlingemergencerate,numberof ilers,plantheight,fagleaflengthpaniclelength,uberof flld grais pernicletotalmberofgaisprpicle,dymateaculatio,andieldilebignigncatects onseed-setingrateor1O-grainweight.Nosignifcantchangesocurredinbrownriceateormilledriceate,whilesignificant decreases inchalkinessdegreeandchalkygrainrate wereobserved.Furthermore,DCdecreasedtheproteincontent,while icreasing theamylosecontentand taste valueofrice grains.RVA profilecharacteristic values indicated improvedricetexture.In summary, althoughDCanedgainualityidveselytedgrooictraitsdyls.Diaou6'eiedreateraptabilityto DC than 'Chujing 54′ ,serving as a more promising variety for water-scarce regions.
