Abstract:To address common issues of packer's seal failure and tubing leakage in high-pressure separate injection wells, the MDGL permanent tubing-insert packer was successully developed and applied. This packer featured a permanent structural design,significantly enhancing anchoring reliability and differential pressure resistance( ⩾50 MPa).Its main body utilized high-strength drillable ductile iron material for easy subsequent removal. The unique tubing-insert sealing assembly allowed rapid tubing inspection operations without replacing the packer body.When the injection string fails(e.g., tubing leakage),sealing could be restoredsimplybyretrievingthe tubing string,replacing defective tubingorinserts,and reinserting theminto the packer bore, greatly reducing operational costs and tool expenses. The tubing-insert high -pressure separate injection technology based on the MDGL packer has significantly extended the service life of highpressure water injection strings (field application longevity increased to 725 days).This technology provides effective supportfor efficient waterflood development in Wenliu Oilfield and similar high-pressure and lowpermeability oilfields,demonstrating broad prospects for promotion and application.
