Abstract:To solve the problems of complex structure,cumbersome disassembly process,and high manufacturing cost of existing underwater connectors for subsea pipelines, three kinds of clamp-type underwater hydraulic connector design schemes for subsea pipelines were proposed,which took into account the disadvantages of traditional remotely - operated vehicle (ROV)-assisted connection modes. All threeschemes had unique features in their functional structure.The three dimensional modeling of the whole equipment was completed with Solidwork software,and the structural strength and sealing performance of the model were calculated from the theoretical and simulation aspects.The results show that theconnector meets the applicationrequirements,and the feasibilityand rationalityof the connector structure design are verified.The design overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional connector structure while considering thereliability,adaptability,and functional principles.The analysis results have acertain reference significance for the independent development of underwater connectors in China.
