Abstract: In response to the problems of low single well productivity and high oil production costs in the adjustment and development process of offshore oilfields,the application of branch well technology is an effective way to reduce costs and increase production in offshore oilfield development. Dual-tube packer is a key tool for separately producing the main and branch wellbores.A dual-tube packer for 5-level branch wells was developed,which mainly consists of a body mechanism,a sealing mechanism,a setting mechanism,an anchoring mechanism,and an unsealing mechanism.The hydraulic method was used for dual-tube packer seting,lifting the tubing string to achieve unsealing and recovery.Laboratory and onsite tests have proven that the dual-tube packer tool has a reasonable structural design,which can effectively seal the oil pipe and casing annulus and achieve safe and reliable seting,unsealing,and recycling. It overcomes many shortcomings of traditional packers,such as inconvenient assembly, premature seting,and poor sealing performance.The developed dual-tube packer for 5-level branch wells provides reliable tool support for multi-branch welltechnology in offshore oil and gas wells.
