Abstract： Meeting the people's aspiration for a better life is the value orientation of advancing Chinesestyle modernization and an inherent requirement for building a modern socialist country in al respects. Looking at Marx's perspective on the "production-life" relationship，new quality productive forces are the vivid forces to achieve a better life at the current stage. However，there is a gap between the people's actual living conditions and their vision of a better lifeat present. To realize the vision ofa better life in the five dimensions of economy，politics，culture，society and ecology， it is necessary to unleash the effectiveness of new quality productive forces，build a solid foundation fora better life through high-quality and coordinated economic development，respond to the key demands of a better life with smart and efficient governance，express the value concept of a better life through cultural diversity and integration， create an overall atmosphere for a better life through social happiness and stability，and lay the fundamental color for a beter life through ecological greenness and benefiting the people，so as to outline the realistic picture of a better life.
