Abstract:Caudalblockisaclasicregionalanesthesia technique.Traditionalapproachesprimarilyrelyonlandmarkbasedtechniques,andthis blind methodcarries risks such assubarachnoid injection,hematoma,and local anesthetic systemic toxicity,performing worse inpopulations with anatomical variations(e.g,patients withobesity oranatomical anomalies).Theclinical integrationof ultrasound imaging technology inrecent years hasbeen landmark.Ultrasound technology,with itsinnovative breakthroughsincludingthevisualizationofpuncturepathsandreal-timemonitoringof drugdifsion,hassuccessullpromotedtraditionalexperience-orientedanesthesia tothelevelof image-guided precision medicine,thereby facilitatinganewdevelopment momentum intothe technical systemofcaudal block.Thisarticle provides asystematic review of theapplication value of ultrasound-guided technique in caudal block,comprehensively assessingtheadvancementsandadvantagesof ultrasound guidance bycontrasting itseficacywiththe limitationsof traditional blind techniques,focusing onimproving procedural successratesand safety,particularly inspecialized clinical contexts such as anorectal surgery,pediatric anesthesia,and chronic pain management,aiming to ofer insights foroptimizing clinical practice.
