Kinematic characteristics of rotator cuff injury and the progress of exercise treatment

Abstract:Rotatorcuf tear(RCT)isacommon disorderof theshoulderjoint,characterized bypainand motordysfunction, whichseriouslyafectspatients'qualityoflife.Despitethevarietyofclinicaltreatments,theeficacyisvariable.Thereis relativelackofsystematicanalysisbasedonkinematiccharacteristicstoguideexercisetherapy.Clinicalstudieshaveshown that exercise therapycombined withothertherapeutic meanscanachievethepurposeofrehabilitatingRCTbyimprovingrange of motion,restoring normalizationof the scapulohumeralrhythm,enhancingshoulder stabilityandoptimizing muscle activity paters.Given that kinematicanalysis is a fundamental strategy for the developmentof rehabilitation therapy, this paper reviews the progress of research on the kinematic features of RCTand thecorresponding exercise therapyat homeandabroad inrecentyears.Theresultsof theliteraturereview indicatethatpatientswithRCT havesignificant abnormalkinematicfeatures,including limitedshoulderrangeofmotion,abnormalshoulder-humeralrhythmratio,reduced shoulder stability and abnormal muscle activation patterns.
