Studyon the Structural Characteristicsand Mechanical Properties of Moraceae Phloem Fibers

Abstract:Thisstudyfocusedonteanalysisofthemrphologicalstructure,ystalineharacterists,ndmechanicalpropertisofte fivemoraceaeplomfibers(Morusalba,Moruscathayana,Morusustralis,icusconcinna,Ficusheteromorha).Theresultsidicated thatallfive moraceaephofibersexibitedslenderstructures,mong hichtheMoruscathayanaphlomfiberhadthemaximumaverage length (3.02mm)and the highest aspectratio(123).The densityof these five moraceaephloem fibers ranged from1.47 to 1.65g/cm3 ,all demonstrating high crystallinity ( >80% ),,withthe crystallinityof Ficusconcinnaphloem reachingashighas 87.42% .Significant differences wereobservedintheirzero-spantensileindices.TheMorusalbaphloemfiberexhibitedthehighestdryzero-spantensileindex(94.0N·m/g ) while the Morus cathayana phloem fiber showed the highest wet zero-span tensile index (62.2N⋅m/g ).Comprehensive evaluation of morphological structureadmchnicalpropriesevealedtatMorusalbandMouscthaanaplofbersdmostratedsuperorpefoancestablisg them as superior raw materials within the pulp and paper industry.
