Abstract:LigninexhibitsexcellntUVprotectioandantioidantpropertisduetoitsaromaticructurandtepreseceoffuctioal groupssuchasphenolichydroxylgroups,carbonylgroups,carboxylgroups,anddoublebonds thathaveUVabsorptioncapabilities.Inecentyears,ligninhsgaindwidespreadatetioninsunscreenresearchasapromisingaleratietotemineralorsyteticonicUV protectantscurentlyusedisunsnproductsheabsnceofxtendedcjugatedsysmsinln’solecuarsructureliitssasorptionprimariltUVBdacesiatigfurresechtoovoeitsooUVprottiodeaeitsoeallcsa UVshield.Thisreviewsummarizedthestructure-propertyrelatioshipsoflignininUVresistanceperformance,withaparticularphasis onstrategiesandsearhadansinacingitsUAprotectiourthretepotetialaplcatiosandfutureprospctsfn in sunscreen products were discussed,providing valuable insights forthe development of lignin-based sunscreens.
