[Abstract]Colorectal cancer （CRC）is one the malignant tumors with high incidence rate and mortality worldwide.Its complexity and high metastasis have brought great challenges to treatment.Vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF），asone the most important factors stimulating angiogenesis， plays acrucialrole in the occurrence， development， metastasis， and prognosis CRC. This article reviews the biological characteristics VEGF and its mechanism action in CRC， including promoting tumor angiogenesis， regulating the tumor microenvironment，and mediating tumor invasion and metastasis.In addition，this article also explorestreatment

strategies targeting VEGF and its related pathways， such as Bevacizumab， Tanshinone IIA， chemotherapy combination， programmed cell death protein 1（PD-1）/VEGF bispecific antibodies， and multi-target kinase inhibitors.These treatment strategies have shown good eficacy in the treatment CRC， but further research and optimization are still needed.
