Summary of evidence for exercise therapy in patients with lower extremity arteriosclerotic obliterans with intermittent claudication

Abstract Objective：To search and summarize the relevant evidence of exercise therapy for patients with lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans and intermittent claudication，and provide reference for exercise exercise for patients with lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans and intermittent claudication.Methods：According to the "6S" pyramid evidence model，the published literature on exercise therapy for patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans with intermittent claudication，including clinical practice guidelines，expert consensus，evidence summary，systematic review，and Meta-analysis，was reviewed from BMJ Best Practice，UpToDate，and the Cochrane Library，JBI Evidence-based Health Care Center of Australia，NICE，SIGN，NGC，Yimaitong，SVS，ACC，AHA，European Heart Association，PubMed，CINANL，MedLine，Web of Science，CBM，CNKI，WanFang Database and VIP.The search period was from October 2017 to October 2023.After quality evaluation and professional judgment，the evidence of the included literature was extracted and summarized.Results：A total of 25 articles were included，including 2 clinical practice guidelines，4 evidence summaries，1 expert consensus，and 18 systematic reviews.Finally，the best evidence of exercise therapy for patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans with intermittent claudication was formed from 10 aspects，including exercise object，exercise evaluation/training，exercise place，exercise process，exercise type/mode，exercise time/frequency/cycle，exercise intensity，exercise quality control，exercise effect evaluation，and exercise precautions.Conclusion：This study summarizes the best evidence of exercise therapy for patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans with intermittent claudication，and provides evidence support for the formulation of exercise regimen for patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans with intermittent claudication.
