Abstract： Thomas Pynchon is an outstanding representative of American postmodern novelists. His early novel V. has unique style and is of distinction. Its characteristics can be manifested as： （1） a unique humor style; （2） anti-fiction narrative technique; （3） anti-hero characters; （4） absurdity. In this novel， Pynchon demonstrates the black humor of postmodern fiction to the fullest， making the novel V. a unique and charming masterpiece.
