Effects of Sugar Alcohols and Oligochitosan Chelated Calcium Fertilizer on Tomato Growth and Development

Abstract:Tisstudyimedtoclarifteefectivenesofsugaralohlandchitososacharideascaliumfertiraddiivesintomato production.Weinvestigatedtheimpactoftheseadditivesontomatogrowth,quality,andnutrientabsorption,usingclearwaterand calciumnitrateasontrols.Theresultsdicatedthatsugaralcoolandchitoligosacchardeehancetegowthqualityndutrit contentoftomatoshenusedashelatingagentsforcalciumfertilizer.Specifically,chitoligosacchardedmonstratedteossignificant effect.Tomato plants treated with chitooligosaccharidechelated calcium showed a 11.69% increase in growth and a 2.64% increase compared to those treated with sugar alcohol. Single-plant production rised by 12.22% and 5.82% ,respectively. Leaf chlorophyll content increased by 16.09% and 6.79% ,respectively.Fruit soluble sugar and vitamin C content rised by 11.97% and 3.45% ,respectively,while titratable acid content decreased by 4.24% .The absorption of calcium in tomato shoots and fruit increased by 7.97% and 5.04% ,respectively,and fruit incidence of disease decreased by 7.27% . Additionally,the absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus,and potassium in the aboveground parts of tomatoes increased by 6.30% , 6.99% ,and 2.71% ,respectively.In conclusion, bothsugaraloholandchitososacharidecnseeasfectivecalciumfertilizeraditivestopromotetheabsorptionandutilizationof calcium nutrition in tomatoes,with chitooligosaccharide showing the best application effect.
