AbstractCrop straw is a very valuable renewable bioresource in agricultural production,and returning it to the field is a major pathway for resource utilization. This study focused on the research topic of crop straw returning to analyze the efects of diferent crop straw returning techniques on soil carbon sequestration and biological properties in agricultural fields from four aspects : straw decomposition characteristics,soil aggregates and carbon pols,soil microbial communities,and organic carbon mineralization. On this basis,future research directions for crop straw returning and the shortcomings and solutions in current technologies were proposed.In the future,targeted returning measures should be taken according to different crop planting systems, climates,and soil conditions to further achieve the goals of fertilization enhancement through straw returning and carbon sequestration reduction in farmland soils.
