Effect of Urbanization on Greenhouse Gases in Surface Water of the Xichong River

Abstract:In order to explore the main influencing factors of urbanization on the concentrations and emission fluxes of greenhouse gases in rivers,greenhouse gas samples were collected through headspace bottle method,and the dissolved concentration and emission fluxes were calculated.The results show that the concentrations and emission fluxes of CO2,CH4 and N2O are on the rise along the direction of increasing urbanization in the Xichong River.The concentrations of CO2,CH4 and N2O in urban section are 1.28, 7.90 and1.41 times of those in rural section,and the emission fluxes in urban section are 3.75,12.57 and 2.97 times of those in rural section,respectively.The concentration and emission fluxes of CO2 , CH4 and N2O are significant positively correlated with TP,DTP and PO43--P ,indicating that the production and emissions of greenhouse gases are mainly affected by phosphorus.The urbanization process in the basinsignificantly affects the spatial pattern of water environment quality and greenhouse gas emissions.The organic matter in the river is regulated by nutrients,which affects the production and emissionsof greenhouse gases.Therefore,reducing the input of nutrients is of great significance for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Xichong River,
