[Abstract]ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate therepeatabilityandreliabilityofaself-developed domestic wirelessurfaceelectromyography (sEMG)system(Oralmetry)inassesingtheactivityofthetemporalisandmassetermuscles toprovidetheoreticalsupportforitsclinicalapplication.MethodsTwenty-two volunters were recruited.Through multiple repeated measurements, the sEMG signals of bilateralanteriortemporalisand masseter muscles during maximum voluntaryclenching werecolectedusing the self-developed sEMGevice,OralmetryandtwocommercialsMGdevices (ZebrisandTetan),iltered, sreend, dsta dardized.SevensEMG indicators for assessing masticatory muscle function were calculated. The intraclasscorrelation coeficient (ICC)wasused toevaluate therepeatabilityof the measurements fromthe threesEMGdevices, andstatistical analysiswasconducted to compare theconsistency of the seven sEMG indicators obtained fromthe devices. Results Among te 22 participants, the ICC values ofthe repeated measurements from the three sEMG devices ranged from0.88 to0.99.The measurements of three sEMG indicators (antero-posterior coefificient, percentageoverlapping coeffificient_MM,andpercentageoverlappingcoefificient_TA)otainedbyZebrisweresignificantlydierentfromthoseobtainedby Oralmetryand Teethan (P<0.05 ).No significant differences in the measurements of the seven sEMG indicators were found between Oralmetryand Teethan.ConclusionOralmetryand the twocommercial sEMG devices demonstrated good repeatability incapturing sEMG indicators for evaluating masticatory muscle function.Inparticular,Oralmetry showedthe highest ICCvalues.Al threedevices alsoexhibited good consistency in measuring sEMG indicators, anda highagreement was observed between the two wirelessEMG devices (Oralmetry and Tethan). These findings provide theoretical support for the clinical application of Oralmetry.
