Abstract:Thisstudyaims toinvestigatetheregulatoryefectsofshadingonthephotosyntheticcharacteristicsofLoropetalum chinensevar.rubrum.TwoL.chinensevar.rubrum varieties,XiangnongFendai'andBlackPear',weretreatedunderfiveading gradients: 0% 30% 50% 70% ,and 90% .The photosynthetic parameters,chlorophyllfluorescence characteristics,and photosynthetic pigmentontentweresystematicallcompared.TheresultsshowedthatshadinghancedthepotentialphotochemicalactivityofP, netphotosytheticatestomatalonductane,andtranspirationrateofthetwvarieties.XiangnongFendai'asmorsesititolight changes,whileBlackPearl'showedstrongeradaptabilitytoghshadingenvironments.Inadition,shadingsigifcantlyceased thecontentofcloropyllachlorophyllbandcarotenoidsinthetwovarieties.Withtheextensionofsadingtie,aighshading rate (50%-90%) wasconducive to chlorophylla accumulation.Inconclusion,shading significantly improves the photosynthetic performanceofXiangnongFendaiadBlackPear',andthecomprehensivephotosyntheticperformancesoftetwoaietiesuder differentsadingcondonsvaryItissggestedtatadiferentiatedshadingstrategysouldbadoptedintecultivationofL.inense var. rubrum based on variety characteristics.
