Abstract：Yundan28isanewhybridmaizevarietybredbytheShiyanAcademyofAgriculturalSciencesandEnshiAcademyof Agricultural Sciences，withthe parental combinationof'WDo7×12ED27.This varietywasselectedto participate intheegional trial of maize varieties in mountainous areas of Hubei Province from 2O22 to 2023，achieving the average yield of 11016.45kg/hm2 which increased by 10.16% compared with that of the control variety 'Huayu 11'. In July 2024， it was approved by the Crop Variety Approval CommiteeofHubei Province.Yundan28'hadthecharacteristicsofahighandstableyield，strongdiseaseresistance，nd wideadaptability.Itissuitableforspring maizecutivationinhillyareasofHubeirovinceandmidle-andlow-altitudeareasof SichuanProvince.Thispaperintroducesthebedingideasbredingprocessparentandvarietychracteristics，ieldpefoance， andcultivationtechniquesofYundan8'，mingtoproviderferencefothepromotionandapplicationofthisvarietyinprouction.
