Abstract:This studyaims toclarifytheefectsof sowingdateand seedlingage ontheyieldandcadmium accumulation charactersticsofthelatericevarietyQingliansiiao'Asingle-factorrandomizedblockdesignwasadopted.Theyieldsandcadium contentunderthre sowingdates (June19,June27,andJuly5)andthreesedlingages (22,27,and32days)weremeasured.The resultsaredescribedasfolows.Sowingdatesignificantlyaffectedthericeyieldandcadmiumcontent.Theyieldwashigheinthe caseofsowinginmid-to-lateJunebutsignifcantlydecreasedinthecaseofsowinginearlyJuly.Themainfactorsafectigtherice yieldwerethenumberofgrainperearandseedsetingrate.Thecadmiumaccumulationinvariouspartswassignificantlyreduced underearlysowingtreatment.(2)There wasnosignificant diferenceinyieldamongdiferentsedingages,andtheseedlingsofa widerange ofages weresuitable.Thecadmiumcontent waslowinvarious partsinthe seedlingage groupof2 days.Intheseedling age groupof3days,althoughthecadmiumcontent inbrownricewaslower,thatinstems,leaves,andhuskswashigher.Terefore earlysowing in mid-to-lateJunecombined withasedlingageofabout22days isconducive toensuring theyield whilereducingthe cadmium accumulation of'Qingliansimiao'.
